Vitesh Vithlani

Vitesh Vithlani is a multi-disciplinary socially engaged artist who explores the visual and cultural influences of music, spirituality and religion upon identity. Vithlani uses photography, documentary film and sound art to present immersive installations to audiences, showcasing his visual and embodied experiences of culture. For example, in his Urban Aura Series he experimented with glow sticks, performance and photography to depict chakras and the rising Kundalini. Vithlani received an MA in Visual Communication from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design and has shown work through various open calls including the New Art Gallery Walsall (2009), Herbert Art Gallery & Museum (2014), Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (2015) and the Ikon Gallery (2021).
