Since 2009 Ludic Rooms have developed a UK-wide reputation for delivering high-quality creative technology projects that have at their heart a participatory approach. We’ve worked with dozens of communities including work in a variety of complex settings; PRUs and SEN schools, Autism units and Hearing Resource Centres. We have designed and built custom electronics with infants, worked with schools to create interactive playspaces and paper plane-throwing robots, transformed empty shops into giant touchscreens and magical snowstorms. As well as working with art galleries and museums, we’ve transformed public spaces and heritage sites, taken over cities, castles, woodland and canals. We have created work for single players, and for audiences of 20,000 or more. Our work has been featured in the Huffington Post, Wired, The Face and nationally on BBC Breakfast as well as regular coverage in regional press and radio.

Ludic Rooms is a constituted not-for-profit company with social aims. We believe in empowering communities to become co-creators of work, in collaborating with partners across disciplines and demystifying the use of technologies as creative material. We work in real-world settings, supported by digital media to allow artists, workshop participants, and audiences a space to make a difference in the world around them.
